Throughout the entire episode, Miss Grotke's classroom is flipped over to the other side of the school hallway.
At the start of the episode, T.J. is not wearing his hat, Mikey is wearing a belt, Spinelli is wearing ribbons in her hair, and Vince is wearing a tie and a different shirt. When the kids all go outside for recess, they are back to their regular appearances.
In various times in the episode, multiple characters pronounce Miss Grotke's name wrong. This may be due to the episode being recorded earlier than some of the others, causing some of the actors to be confused as to who's name is pronounced what.

This is the first time we see the main kids of the show in the second grade.
Cryer Kid's name is revealed to be Bradley
This episode marks the first appearence of Mr Yamoshero and Cryer Kid
Cryer Kid is played by Michael Shulman in this episode only. Klee Bragger (and Ryan O'Donohue in some episodes) plays him for the remainder of the series.
During Spinelli's fantasy of the teachers lounge, Miss Grotke is briefly played by Tress MacNeille during the boxing scene.
This is the only time Miss Grotke is seen without her glasses.
