"Spinelli's Masterpiece" is the twenty-seventh episode of the fourth season of Recess, which was first broadcast on February 6th, 2000.

Summary[]

Spinelli lets off some steam by creating a chalk drawing, which evolves into something much greater. T.J. and the gang do everything they can to keep Miss Finster from erasing it.

Goofs[]

  • Animation/continuity error: In the beginning of the episode, Spinelli is playing basketball, where basketball court lines can be seen on the ground. These lines eventually disappear and then reappear while the game is still happening.
  • Dialogue/coloring error: Ashley A. tells Ashley B. that Spinelli's drawing brings out the pink in her sweater. However, Ashley B.'s sweater is yellow, not pink.
  • Animation/consistency error: When the Ashleys said, "Scandalous!", only Ashley A. and Ashley B. are animated in saying it.
  • Animation/continuity error: During the moment when everyone is shown viewing the end result of Spinelli's art, Jerome appears in two different places.

Trivia[]

Regular[]

  • According to the area the satellite was zooming in on to view the blacktop, it would place Third Street Elementary somewhere in Illinois.
  • Clips of this episode were used in Disney Channel's "Express Yourself" promo from 2003.
  • T.J. gives Knarf the coordinates 40.5 N, 80 W to locate Spinelli's drawing. That puts Third Street in near Pittsburgh, PA., even though the setting of the series is somewhere in Arkansas.

Continuity[]

  • This is the first episode after what appears to be a two-month hiatus.
